As the Christmas season approaches I wanted to fill you in on the chapel program in Hartford, New York and the American Hockey League. In Hartford we are forced to move to a larger room because the chapel out grew the present room. Two weeks ago we have a record attendance for chapel ,16 players. They just kept coming in the room. This week was probably the one of the better chapels with player interaction. I really didn’t have to answer too many questions because the players answered them for me. Awesome
In New York with the Rangers we have had 4 chapels this year. Their schedule is a little crazy with the outdoor classic game coming up in January. With all the media attention on the team ,the faithful attendees are still coming out for chapel. Our prayer is that after the first of the year we will see some other players coming to chapel.
In the AHL the chapels are going strong with 27 of the 30 teams holding weekly chapels. Two of the 3 remaining teams will start chapels after Christmas and the third one is a work in progress. HMI Northeast distributed 900 Christmas cards with a bible offer in them to all the players in the AHL. The bible is a leather bound bible with the players name and skate logo on it. Amazing to see the players receive these bibles.
You could help. Please see our annual appeal letter in the last blog. Please help HMI continue with the Christmas Card distribution and bible offer to the AHL. With your help this year we will be able to offer more recourses for the players to expand their faith in the Lord.
Thank you so much and Merry Christmas
