Most people are familiar with chaplains on other sports teams such as baseball, football and basketball, but are surprised to hear they are also in the hockey world. HMI has been ministering to hockey players since 1977. It began as a vision of Don Liesemer Sr. and now reaches worldwide. Read more by visiting our parent website at www.hockeyministries.org.

I was first introduced to HMI Northeast Division in 1996, when the NY Rangers relocated their farm team from Binghamton, NY to Hartford, CT. That was the beginning of my role as Chaplain to the Hartford Wolf Pack. My role as Chaplain is a most fulfilling experience. In 2008, after much prayer, I stepped by faith into the role of HMI Chapel Coordinator for the American Hockey League in the Northeast United States. In 2010, this was expanded to HMI Chapel Coordinator for the entire American Hockey League. Through the entire process, my family and I have learned to trust in God's provision through faithfulness of the supporters of this vision.

My work as Chaplain to the Wolf Pack has continued along with the additional responsibilities of supervising AHL chapel programs in the rest of the AHL. I pray that God continues to use me as the work continues.
